dusshera is celebrated vastly in india and manu oyher countries since long back. the celebrations in present form started in the time of lord ram . when lord started for shri lanka then ayodhya state which had a long territory, citizens eho admired and loved ram prayed gods for his victory. ayodya people were very well aware of the whereabouts of lord, when they knew that sita ji had been taken by ravana to shri lanka, and shri ram has started towards shrre lanka. ladies kept fasts, which are still in practice by hindus in common. the fasts were to make happy the goddesses so that they may protect shri ram army and they may get victory over ravana. the most famous victory yet over evil by a right ...... yhough ravana had big army, latest technology weapons, bunkers to hide a covered fort but then also all his technique failed and he was killed. his vardan which he got from shivji was also not workable due to bad deeds of ravana.
after the victory of ram and his return to ayodhya the memories were kept alive in the form of ramlila. many modifications were done later on .till his rule in ayodhya shri ram use to be in procession of barat. afterwards the swaroops (actors of different mandlis organised ram barat ) later on in northern india it was improved in many ways and huge celebrations for about a month were organised ,with janakpuri palaces, ramlilas at different places in many tpwns and cities, the ramlila ceremony ends after the burning of ravana, this act every year reminds that the end of wring and evil is death or demolition of his empire and power. the win is of the only right........
